Yes, we are now just days away from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and a month from crowning the newest world champion.

But some people have already started glancing at the schedule for domestic and European football, thanks to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draw that took place on Monday, November 7.

The tournament will not restart again until mid-February, but with the eight ties now set, New Jersey bettors and fans can now start to figure out which eight teams will be in the quarterfinal and semifinal draws on March 16, 2023.

While that seems like a far way out (and it is a whole winter season away plus some of the fall still), it will not be long before we get to see European matches in action.

“I think this could be one of the best ties of this round,” a spokesperson for NJ.Bet said Monday morning. “You have the rematch of the final from last year, and also of course the 2018 final, which were both won by Real Madrid. You have PSG and Bayern Munich, which contested the 2020 final and have two of the top four odds to win the tournament. And of course, you have some very interesting ties between teams that might be able to make a run to the quarterfinals or semifinals.

“Imagine Benfica winning its first European Cup since 1962 and lifting the curse? How about Napoli, which is playing as well as any other team? This is very interesting. But I think most neutrals will have their eyes on the two heavyweight ties, which thankfully for us are on separate weeks and days. The first match day is going to put up PSG and Bayern, while the next Tuesday will see Real Madrid visit Liverpool.

“The odds are already posted for the first matches, and for the teams to advance into the quarterfinals, so New Jersey bettors can already back their best bets.”
