A round of applause for Wildwood Crest's surfing phenom Maddie Peterson who narrowly took home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week Award.

We have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Ronald Williams, Football, Bridgeton - The senior quarterback picked apart CAL National Conference rival Cedar Creek throughout a 38-7 win. Williams completed 10 of 13 pass attempts for 163 yards and three touchdowns.

 

TJ Anderson, Football, Holy Spirit - The Spartans' senior quarterback rushed for a pair of pivotal touchdowns and came up with several outstanding defensive plays, including two tackles for loss in a 31-28 win over fellow state champion St. Joe.

 

Adonis Jennings, Football, Timber Creek - The future Rutgers wide receiver was electric in a 50-41 loss to Eastern. He hauled in 13 passes for 288 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Jennings also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

 

Kirsten Milhan, Soccer, Egg Harbor Township She netted the game's lone goal in a 1-0 win over Cedar Creek. Milhan scored the goal off a penalty kick to break a scoreless stalemate.

 

Jamir Prevard, Football, Atlantic City - The Vikings' sophomore quarterback starred in a 54-12 victory over Egg Harbor Township. Prevard completed three touchdown passes, gained nearly 200 yards through the air and rushed for another score.
