Congrats to Eastern quarterback and younger brother of NFL star Joe Flacco, Tom Flacco for taking home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Che'quan Hargrose, Football, Pleasantville - The Greyhounds quarterback led a game-winning drive on Thanksgiving at Ocean City. He connected with wide receiver Mike Foster for a 9-yard touchdown toss with 20 seconds remaining. Pleasantville prevailed 15-14, finishing the season with three wins for the first time since 2006.

 

Amir Mitchell, Football, Cedar Creek - The sophomore standout scored three touchdowns in a 33-0 victory over St. Augustine Prep. Mitchell rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a 35-yard touchdown pass as Cedar Creek clinched a share of its first conference title.

 

Mike Dolan, Football, Absegami - In his final game as the Braves quarterback, he threw a pair of touchdowns (71 and 40 yards). Dolan also rushed for a 44-yard score in a 44-6 victory over Oakcrest.

 

Rocco Ordille, Football, St. Joe - The Wildcats running back scored the game-winning touchdown in a 28-21 win over Hammonton. The junior rushed 14 yards or the go-ahead score with 3:14 remaining in the final matchup between the rivals as Cape-Atlantic League opponents.

 

Dylan Cummings, Football, Pennsville - Cummings finished his career ranked second all-time in state history with 7,694 passing yards. However, he capped off his senior season with a monster performance on the ground, rushing for a school-record 326 yards on 30 carries. He scored six touchdowns.
