Here are the candidates for CAL Athlete of the Week.
Cody Dazen, St. Augustine golf: Finished first overall at the Cape-Atlantic League Golf Championships, hosted by Atlantic City Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon. He birdied three of the final four holes to wrap up a 1-under par performance. Dazen also won the Carl Arena/AL Rifkin Memorial Championship on Thursday in Pittsgrove.
Brittany Scott, Buena Regional softball: The senior pitcher tossed a perfect game against Sacred Heart on Thursday. Scott struck out six batters, leading the Braves to a 2-0 victory. She now has 11 wins on the mound this season.
Jared Ganiel, Absegami track and field: Dominated competition in a Tuesday afternoon CAL tri-meet against Vineland and St. Augustine. Ganiel earned top honors in the high jump, long jump and 400 meter run, leading Absegami to a pair of league victories.

A.J. Martinez, Holy Spirit baseball: The Spartans’ ace pitcher was sensational in Monday’s 9-3 victory over Atlantic City. Martinez compiled 17 strikeouts to pick up the win in a pivotal American Conference clash.
