Eagles' best number: 326 (Jalen Hurts passing yards)

Eagles' worst number: 44 (Saquon Barkley rushing yards)

View from my living room:
I almost forgot how bad Carson Wentz is now. His performance today reminded me. Two interceptions, including a pick-six, a pass that went backwards for a loss, an intentional grounding, and a late incompletion that should have been an easy TD.

Three stars

  1. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (19-for-23 for 326 yards with three TDs).
  2. Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (9 catches for 183 yards and a TD).
  3. Vikings place-kicker Will Reicher (5-for-5 field goals, including a 59-yarder).

Eagles’ best play

Smith broke loose behind the Vikings secondary and Hurts hit him with a beautiful pass for a 79-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Honorable mention: Linebacker Jalyx Hunt’s 42-yard interception return for a TD in the first quarter.

Eagles’ worst play

Eagles special teams were atrocious for most of the game. Even place-kicker Jake Elliott missed a 42-yard field goal wide right.

Turning point

Hurts essentially clinched the win in the fourth quarter. Clinging to a 21-19 lead and facing and third-and-13, Hurts scrambled away from danger and found A.J. Brown for a 13-yard gain that led to Brown’s 26-yard TD catch later in the drive.

Did you notice?

Hurts registered a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating. He threw for over 300 yards for the first time since week three of last season.… Center Cam Jurgens was hurt in the first half and Brett Toth replaced him at center.… Barkley was held in check again with 18 carries for 44 yards (2.4 yards per carry).… Hunt’s first career interception was the Eagles’ first defensive touchdown this season, not counting Jordan Davis’ blocked field goal return for a TD against the Rams.… Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison had nine receptions for 128 yards. Justin Jefferson had five for 78 yards.
