Would the Eagles Make a Call About Kyler Murray?
If this Kyler Murray mess doesn't get resolved soon in Arizona would Howie Roseman make a call to the Cardinals?
You bet he would, at least according to one ESPN NFL analyst, Dan Orlovsky.
The team just extended the contracts of both head coach Kliff Kingsbury and general manager Steve Keim, who are now under contract through 2027.
Murray wants his extension to be the Cardinals' next order of business.
The former No. 1 overall pick in the draft has made it clear that he's looking for a contract extension, as he remains under his rookie contract with a fifth-year option available for 2023, which Keim said the team would be picking up.
Murray completed a career best 69.2% of his passes with 3,787 yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also ran for 423 yards and five scores for the Cardinals in 2021.
He struggled with Cardinals during their Wild Card loss to the Rams and then unfollowed the Cardinals on Instagram and Twitter which began the speculation that he might want to leave the organization that selected him No. 1 overall in 2019.
The Eagles have been tied to plenty of veteran quarterbacks because of their ample first-round draft selections. They could use those picks to add a veteran player at the position to replace current starter, Jalen Hurts.
Moving on from Hurts isn't so much of an indictment, but there are better players out there that could be available and Roseman has been known to leave no stone unturned.
So if Murray is available, I would agree with Orlovsky, and expect Roseman to make a call. Same if Russell Wilson became available or Aaron Rodgers or any other of the top-tier veteran quarterbacks are available in a trade.
