On Friday Night, the Philadelphia Eagles traded up the in 2nd Round to get ahead of their divisional rival, the Dallas Cowboys, to select Tight End Dallas Goedert.  Goedert, one of the top TE prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft class, had back to back seasons with over 1,000 Receiving Yards at South Dakota State where he compiled a total of 18 Touchdowns and 162 Receptions over the last two seasons.  Goedert measured in at 6'5" and 256 pounds at the NFL Draft Combine where he Bench Pressed 225 Lbs for 23 Repetitions.

Scott Wright of Draftcountdown.com joined The Sports Bash on Monday with his analysis of the Eagles new Tight End Dallas Goedert:

“They got my top rated Tight End – (Goedert) was my number one Small School Prospect in this draft….The thing that struck me about Dallas Goedert, seeing him down at the Senior Bowl, you see he put up these crazy numbers as a pass catcher at lower level of competition so in your mind’s eye you have this idea of him as this bulked up Wide Receiver, maybe a one dimensional player but that’s not the case at all.  He has a huge frame, I couldn’t get over how just large he is and just long arms, he has more than enough tools to get the job done as a blocker in addition to a pass catcher – A really good (draft) pick and don’t discount (Eagles) moving up ahead of their divisional rival to get a player that could’ve helped Dallas and hurt Philly this year.”
