The Philadelphia Eagles' final road game of the 2024 NFL season is also the most important game remaining on their schedule.

The last time both the Eagles and the Washington Commanders franchises made the playoffs in the same season was 1992. Back then, they were called the Washington Redskins and the Eagles Head Coach was Rich Kotite.

Now 32 years later, the Eagles are looking to win the NFC East for the sixth time since 2010 while the Commanders are attempting to clinch their first playoff appearance since 2020. But for the second straight week, the Eagles will be without one of their valuable role players.

Eagles Welcome Back Special Teams Contributor But Rule Out Receiver

Despite practicing all week, Wide Receiver and Special Teams Contributor Britain Covey has been ruled out for his third straight game.  Multiple reports say that Covey, who is dealing with a Neck Injury, has not been cleared for contact by the team doctors.

After missing last Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Safety Sydney Brown cleared the NFL Concussion Protocol this week. Even though he has only played in eight games this season, Brown has played over 40 percent of the snaps on Special Teams and he is a valuable contributor.

According to Eagles Insider John McMullen, speaking to Mike Gill on The Sports Bash on Friday afternoon, Wide Receiver AJ Brown banged up his knee at Practice earlier this week and that is why he was a Limited Participant. Brown told the media at his locker that he is playing and no one is 100 percent this time of year.

The least surprising news coming out of Philadelphia this week is that Defensive End Bryce Huff was ruled out for this Sunday's game. Huff is a month removed from undergoing Wrist Surgery and he started to work his way back as a Limited Participant at practice this week.

The Washington Commanders will be without one of their most important defensive players this Sunday.  Interior Defensive Lineman Jonathan Allen is dealing with a Partial Pectoral Tear and that Injury that will keep him off the field in the rematch of NFC East rivals.

Two Commanders players listed as Questionable are Safety Jeremy Chinn and Tight End Zach Ertz. The 26-year-old Safety has been recovering from sustaining a concussion and the team hopes he can clear NFL Concussion Protocol for Sunday's game.

Former Eagles Tight End Zach Ertz was a Limited Participant at Friday's Practice and is going through NFL Concussion Protocol this week. He must clear the protocol by late Saturday afternoon and team doctors must clear him for contact because he is also dealing with a Shoulder Injury.

Ertz makes our list of former Eagles players who will be members of Philadelphia's Hall of Fame and potential candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame:
