Eagles’ WR DeVante Parker Retires Before 2024 Season

DeVante Parker's Philadelphia Eagles career is over before it really started.

After nine NFL seasons, Parker signed with the Eagles as a free agent this offseason, but has decided to retire to spend more time with his family, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“I want to see my kids, spend quality time with them,” Parker said. “I want to be there for them whenever I can.”

He was an option to be the teams slot wide receiver.

With Parker out of the mix, veteran Paris Campbell, along with rookies Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith will have e a better shot to have a larger role.

The teams 2023 No. 3 wide receiver, Quez Watkins, signed with Pittsburgh in the offseason.

Parker was a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft out of the University of Louisville.

Parker finished his NFL career with 369 catches for 5,266 yards and 27 receiving TDs playing for New England and Miami.

Ironically, one of Parker's best games came against the Eagles in 2019. While playing for Miami, Parker caught seven passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
