Less than an hour after the news came down that the Sixers had suspended Ben Simmons and that he was kicked out of team practice on Tuesday, Joel Embiid had the unenviable task of talking to the media who is looking for answers.  Embiid proved again on Tuesday why he is the superstar that Philadelphia needs and that every fan should love when he said this:

"(Simmons) just got suspended, you know his attitude based on whatever has been reported I'll let you guys (the media) read into that, I have nothing to say about the matter, it is not my problem.  I get paid to deliver and that's (means) to win games and obviously the ultimate goal is to win a championship and like I always say I cannot do it alone.  I need these guys and the guys that are here are willing to help me and I am willing to help them and we going to continue to grow together."

How can you not love this guy?  He has no time for drama, no time for any distractions, he just wants to win and be the best he can be!  He wants to win and he wants the teammates who want to be there with him to grow with him.  For a blue collar city like Philadelphia and a diehard fan base like the 76ers, Joel Embiid has proven he is the "Hero this city deserves" to paraphrase Commissioner Gordon from The Dark Knight.

But wait - Joel Embiid had more to say when pressed by the media about the Ben Simmons drama:

"At the end of the day, our job is not to babysit somebody; We get paid to produce on the court, go out (and) play hard, win some games, that what we get paid for.  We don't get paid to come out here and try to babysit somebody...that's not our job and I'm sure my teammates feel the same way.  So we are really focused on just winning and playing as a team, the main thing for us is to have fun and I think we are going to have that a lot this year."

Well it is obvious to me that Joel Embiid is the "Adult in the Room" like Brett Brown use to say and Ben Simmons is the petulant child that no one wants to deal with anymore.  I have always been an Embiid Fan but today's comments elevates him in my eyes and it should do the same for Sixers fans!  Meanwhile more details coming out in the aftermath of the latest chapter in the Ben Simmons saga:
