Flyers GM Paul Holmgren spoke to the media Thursday to close out the 2011-2012 season and after an abrupt second round ousting by the New Jersey Devils, many questions swirled around the Flyers concerning this past season and seasons that lie ahead. Holmgren spoke about what he feels will take place next year with the NHL collective bargaining agreement and what personnel moves the Flyers could make to improve a young roster.

He also touched on how Chris Pronger is coming along and if he will be a Flyer next year and who might wear the “C” on their jersey next fall.

Holmgren also briefly broke down the New Jersey series and what went wrong against the Devils. Toward the end of the press conference, Holmgren fielded a flood of questions concerning goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. He spoke about the change in culture that Bryzgalov faced by coming to play in Philadelphia and the tough scrutiny he had to adjust to from media and fans. Holmgren also talked about the season Bryzgalov just had and how he expects improvement for the next season and seasons to come playing between the pipes.
