Former Egg Harbor Twp. and Rutgers football star Teejay Johnson was arrested today, along with five current Rutgers football players, according to a report by NJ.com and Shore News Today.

Johnson, 23, was arrested on charges of robbery, burglary while armed, and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery as part of an investigation.

The report was confirmed today by the Egg Harbor Twp police department.

The 2010 Egg Harbor Twp graduate started his career at Fork Union Military Academy after a stellar career with the Silver Eagles.

He was redshirted by Rutgers for the 2011 season and played in all 13 games  for the Scarlet Knights in 2012 and being named to the Big East All-Academic Football Team. His college career was plagued by hamstring injuries which eventually ended his career in July 2014.
