Injury Report Rules Out Two Players for Eagles vs Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles' first divisional matchup with one of their NFC East opponents is this Sunday when they host the Washington Commanders. Friday's Injury Report revealed that two role players for Philadelphia will not be available to play in NFL Week 4.

The Eagles have ruled out Wide Receiver Quez Watkins and Safety Sydney Brown for this Sunday's 1 pm Kickoff in Philadelphia. Watkins did not play on Monday Night Football with a Hamstring issue that also caused him to miss significant time during August's Training Camp. Without Watkins available, you can expect to see more of Olamide Zaccheaus who caught a Touchdown in the Eagles win over the Buccaneers.

Without Sydney Brown, the Eagles will be without a key depth player on Sunday. Brown has played the sixth most Special Teams snaps this season and is one of the team's backup Safeties. Considering that Justin Evans is listed as Questionable with a Neck Issue, Philadelphia's secondary looks thin if Evans is unable to play or reinjures himself on Sunday.

The good news is that even though Fletcher Cox and DeVonta Smith were Limited Participants at practice this week, both players have been cleared to play in NFL Week 4. The Eagles Veteran Defensive Tackle has been working through a Knee Issue while the Eagles' Dynamic Wide Receiver has been dealing with what the team is calling "Illness". Several Eagles players have been dealing with a stomach flu over the last 10 days.

For Washington, they have only ruled out one player for this Sunday's game in Philadelphia. Special Teams Contributor and Backup Running Back Chris Rodriguez will be unavailable for the Commanders as he deals with what the team has referred to as "Illness". One of their Offensive Weapons will be on the field this Sunday, thanks to Tight End Logan Thomas being cleared from Concussion Protocol. Safety Percy Butler is listed as Questionable for Sunday's game with a Foot Issue but he was listed as a Full Participant at practice on Friday.
