Northfield, NJ Police Officer Is Charged With Official Misconduct

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has announced that a Northfield, New Jersey Police Officer has been charged with Official Misconduct and more.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Malachi Valentine, 25 years old, from Pleasantville, New Jersey, was arrested on the following charges:

second-degree Official Misconduct.
second-Degree Pattern of Official Misconduct.
third-degree Computer Criminal Activity.
petty disorderly persons Harassment.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Comments

An investigation found that while employed by the Northfield Police Department, Valentine allegedly utilized the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database outside the scope of his employment since his appointment in 2023.
Valentine was taken into custody and released on a complaint-summons, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
