Iyer: Raiders Game A Chance To Make A Statement On National TV
The Eagles return home for their final two games of the 2017 season after three straight road games in which the defense allowed 29.3 Points Per Game against the Seahawks, Rams, and Giants. The team has already secured the NFC East Title and a First Round Bye in the playoffs as they now are playing to lockup Home Field Advantage through out the postseason. The Eagles are the only team in the NFL with a perfect record playing at home (6-0) as they finish the season playing the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.
The Sporting News NFL Writer Vinnie Iyer joined The Sports Bash on Tuesday with his perspective on the Eagles heading into the final two games of the regular season:
“This Raiders game on Christmas Night is a chance to make a statement on National TV – The Giants typically play the Eagles pretty well so I wouldn’t read too much into that particular game. But overall this (Eagles) team can score on anyone, we have seen that in the Rams game, in the Giants game, even if they are behind late they have so much offensive potential and they can still make a lot of defensive stops with their Front (Seven). The secondary has always been an issue this whole season, the key there is just making some big plays like they did with Ronald Darby.”
