There are plenty of ways the Eagles could go on draft day when its their turn to make a selection.

Its a very important selection, with plenty of holes that need to be filled.

Corner, wide receiver, linebacker, safety and offensive line were all areas of concern in 2020 and adding a player in the top-12 of the draft could help fix those deficiencies.

However one area I don't think the Eagles need to take in the first-round this year is offensive line.  Even though its an area the Eagles have done well in both drafting and building, they have plenty of in-house options for 2021.

"I don't think left tackle is as big of a problem as most people do," former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski said as a guest of the Locker Room on Sunday morning.

"I look at the tape and I thought the guys played well at the left tackle position."

Jaworski is talking about former seventh-round pick Jordan Mailata. Mailata started nine games at left tackle and one on the right side, and graded out as one of the top 15 left tackles in football over the final five weeks of the season.

"We haven't really fully seen Andre Dillard either at that spot so it's hard to sit here today and say that," former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said when asked last year if Mailata had done enough to be the starter in 2021.

"He's helping himself," Pederson continued. "Jordan has played well enough to maybe compete at that spot, but I think it's a little unfair to sit here and say he's a full-time starter moving forward without seeing enough of Andre who obviously we drafted to take that spot."

The Eagles could go from a offensive line in disarray In 2020 to one of the best units in all of football - if they can stay healthy

"The offensive line, when healthy, if Lane Johnson and Brandon Brooks come back, is one of the best in the NFL."

And who knew that a seventh-round selection who was the 233rd overall payer taken that year just might be their answer at left tackle.
