At the end of regulation in Saturday's game in Winnipeg, the Flyers had to survive two opportunities for the NHL's top power play. That essentially won them the game that eventually went to a shootout.

On Thursday night, the Jets power play took full advantage of their two opportunities. A pair of power-play goals in the first and two more in the second paced the Jets to a 4-1 dismantling of the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

The top-ranked power play in the NHL accounted for both goals in the opening period. At 8:32, the Jets took the lead as Mark Scheifele put home a rebound for his 35th goal of the season.

At 15:13, a nice passing play was finished off by Nikolaj Ehlers on the doorstep for his 20th goal of the season to make it 2-0.

Through 20 minutes, shots were 10-8 Winnipeg.

The Jets added to the lead at 5:28 of the second. Kyle Connor scored his 32nd goal of the season off the rush to make it 3-0.

Winnipeg continued to pile on at 9:03 of the period. Adam Lowry was left alone going to the net and buried the feed from Mason Appleton for his 12th goal of the season.

Through two periods, shots were 19-14 Winnipeg.

With 2:42 remaining in the third, Matvei Michkov broke up the shutout bid with his 20th goal of the season to make it 4-1.

Eric Comrie made 21 saves on 22 shots in the win. Sam Ersson stopped 23 of 27 shots in the loss.

Scheifele and Gabriel Vilardi each had three points. Connor had two points.

The Flyers are back on the ice on Saturday afternoon to take on the Seattle Kraken at 12:30 p.m.
