Joel Embiid will not play in Game 2 against the Miami Heat on Monday according to the team.

While he has cleared the concussion protocol, but is still recovering from his orbital fracture, suffered back on March 28,

The Sixers lead the best-of-seven series 1-0, and will again play without their leading scorer. Without him, the team has won nine straight games, and 17 in a row overall.

Embiid told reporters after the Sixers 130-101 win in Game 1 that there's a "pretty good chance" he'll be able to play in Game 2 or 3.

"If it was my decision I would play, but I can’t get back out on the court if I don’t have the OK from them," Embiid said. "But everything has been going well."

Game 3 is Monday night at 8pm, listen on 97.3 ESPN.
