The Sixers will be without Joel Embiid tonight when they face the New York Knicks after suffering a shoulder injury last night in Cleveland.

Embiid was fouled by Cavs center Ante Zizic and was immediate pain.  The Sixers big man grabbed his left shoulder, then stepped to the line to shoot his free throws, missing them both before heading to the locker room.

He is set for an MRI today and is getting more evaluation on injured sprained left shoulder sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

With both Embiid and Ben Simmons out, the Sixers will need some of their veteran players to step up, something they didn't do last night.

Guys like Tobias Harris, Josh Richardson and Al Horford need to have bigger roles, while role players like Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson III, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz and Kyle O'Quinn will be more involved in the rotation.
