Sixers center Joel Embiid will miss at least the next two games, per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia inquire, after his head hit Markelle Fultz's elbow/shoulder on Wednesday night. Embiid will not travel with the team, meaning he will miss the Sixers games against the Hawks and Hornets this weekend.

Embiid will instead spend the next few days in Philly and hopefully be ready for the teams Tuesday night game against the Nets. Embiid went to a local hospital for precautionary tests.

X-rays were negative for a fracture to his face.

In his absence, coupled with Amir Johnson missing the game with an illness, Richaun Holmes scored 15 points with seven rebounds, one assist and no turnovers in 22 minutes.
