Well according to the online oddsmakers at Bovada.lv Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is the favorite to land the head coaching gig in Indianapolis with the Colts.  Currently, Mornhinweg is the odds-on favorite at 5/2.

Next on the list according to the Vegas odds-makers at 4/1 odds is Ventnor resident and Holy Spirit graduate, Greg Roman, who is currently the 49ers offensive coordinator.  Former Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress ranked third at 5/1 odds.

The rest of the list has the regular names that you would expect to see when a job opens up:  former Colts head coach Tony Dungy (15/2), Bill Cowher (10-1) and Jon Gruden (15/1).  Also Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell (15/2) appeared as a long-shot candidate.

However, the top three are very interesting.

All three are offensive minds, two of which used to run the Eagles offense (well, sort of).  Mornhingweg has interviewed in Oakland and was the head man in Detriot, where he failed miserably.  Childress was was most recently the head coach in Minnesota, before getting fired last season - he sat out the 2011 campaign.

Many people feel that if Mornhinweg left to be a head coach the Childress would be back in Philly to replace him right away.

The interesting name on the list is local product Greg Roman (who was a guest of the Sports Bash Tuesday) and talked about the 49ers recent offensive success.  If the Niners win this week with another good offensive output, could he shoot up the list as a offensive coordinator for a team going to the Super Bowl?

You bet he will.
