With the NBA Draft quickly approaching this week, dozens of new players will enter the NBA game.

For some, it will be their first time playing the American game of basketball.

A crazy stat tweeted out by Jay Bilas today could make you think twice when selecting an international player as your lottery pick:

In short, the success rate of international players and when they are selecting in the top 14 spots in the draft is not high.

With that said, international players have been selected outside of the lottery and have gone on to make All-Star games and have flourished in the NBA: Tony Parker and Manu Ginóbili being notables. The Sixers also hold the draft rights to Dario Šarić, the 12th overall pick in 2014 NBA Draft. Šarić remains in Turkey and will not suit up for the Sixers in 2015.

Kristaps Porzingis and Mario Hezonja are two of the top international prospects available and are mocked to go in the top 10 selections.
