Paunil: Logan Does Alot That Doesn’t Show Up In Box Score
After 4 games this season Eagles Defensive Tackle Bennie Logan has compiled 5 Total Tackles, 2 Sacks and 1 Forced Fumble. Logan has been a key part of the Eagles revitalized defense under new Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz.
But Josh Paunil of Birds 24/7 at PhillyMag.com says Bennie Logan's impact goes beyond the statistics and on Thursday he joined The Sports Bash to explain:
"Bennie Logan is a guy that had two Quarterback Hits and two Tackles for Loss, so if you just look at the box score it's not as if you would think he had a bad game. But when you watch the film he definitely played much better than you would think after just watching the initial broadcast, I mean there were several plays where he crushes the Quarterback and he helps collapses the pocket and that led to sacks or led to incompletions....I don't think it was a coincidence that after Bennie Logan manhandled (Lions Starting Left Guard) they took him out of the game; then against the Lions new Left Guard, Bennie Logan quickly sheds him at the point of attack, does a good job using his hands to get the Lineman off of him, and he makes a Tackle for Loss. So he did a lot of things that didn't always show up in the box score and translate into statistics but had a significant impact on the game."
