Flyers vs. Bruins Preview: Back-to-Back in Boston
January can't come to an end soon enough for the Philadelphia Flyers. The heroics of Travis Konecny and Dan Vladar weren't enough to avoid a late go-ahead goal in a loss in Columbus on Wednesday night. It was the team's ninth loss in the last 11 games.
And for their next act, the Flyers get to complete the back-to-back against the Boston Bruins, who have won nine of their last 11 games and have a four-game points streak.
Game time is at 7 p.m.
Owen Tippett has struggled to get points outside of his four-point game in Colorado. The Flyers forward has looked more dangerous in recent games, using his speed more effectively.
David Pastrnak continues to lead the way for the Bruins. He has 10 points in the last five games, including eight assists.
Sam Ersson is expected to start for the Flyers. Ersson took the loss in Monday's game against the Islanders, allowing four goals on 23 shots.
Jeremy Swayman gets the start for Boston. Swayman made 28 saves on 30 shots in an overtime win over Nashville on Tuesday night in his last start.
Projected Lineups
Lineup Notes
- Flyers: Konecny's status for Thursday's game will be known closer to game time. He blocked a shot off his foot late in the second period of Wednesday's game. Rasmus Ristolainen also left Wednesday's game in the first period and did not return. Emil Andrae would come back into the lineup if he's unable to play.
- Bruins: Matthew Poitras has been recalled and will make his season debut in place of the injured Elias Lindholm.
