Keys to the Game
- Michkov on the Right: In the wake of the Bobby Brink trade, Matvei Michkov has gone back to his natural side. He had an assist in Saturday’s game, but generating shots and chances was scarce. Monday provides another opportunity to see if this helps Michkov.
- Start Strong: In all three games against the Rangers this season, the Flyers have trailed after the first period. Starting games with the better of the play and getting an early lead has largely eluded the Flyers this season.
- Power Play Success: The Flyers have three power-play goals in three games this season against the Rangers. Can they take advantage of the man advantage in this game.
By the Numbers
- The Flyers have scored 63 goals in the third period compared to 47 in the first period and 61 in the second period. The Rangers have allowed 64 goals in the third period.
- The Rangers have lost six straight games on the road.
- Mika Zibanejad has 23 goals and 47 points in 51 career games against the Flyers.
Quotable
- "Well, Bobby [Brink] leaving, and then Mich wants to try it. We'll see. I've got my thoughts on that, but we'll see how it goes." - Rick Tocchet on Matvei Michkov playing right wing
X-Factors
- Matvei Michkov: It's been four games since Matvei Michkov scored a goal, which was the last time the Flyers faced the Rangers. Michkov scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime. After three games without a point, Michkov did pick up an assist on Saturday against Pittsburgh.
- Will Cuylle: Cuylle has three goals in the last two games, bringing the 24-year-old to 16 goals on the season. He's just four away from matching his career high of 20, set last season.
