Phillies Magic Number is Five while Eagles prepare for Tampa

The Philadelphia Phillies magic number to clinch a wildcard spot in the National League Playoffs is five heading into action on Friday Night.  To secure the top NL Wildcard Pole Position and host a home playoff game, the Phillies must win six more games.  Nick Castellanos is the first Phillies player to cross 100 Runs Batted In during a season since 2019 (Bryce Harper).  Meanwhile, Alec Bohm and Kyle Schwarber should also reach that milestone before the end of the regular season.  The Phillies beat the New York Mets in the first game of a four-game weekend series Thursday night. and they could clinch a playoff spot before next weekend!  It’s almost Red October and we will get you pumped up this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

The Philadelphia Eagles take their 2-0 record this season into Monday Night Football when they travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers in Florida.  This will be a good test for the inconsistent Eagles against an undefeated Bucs squad.  Quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn’t played his best to start the season, even though he start slow last year too.  The offense looks to break out with NFC Offensive Player of the Week D’Andre Swift who rushed for 175 yards on 28 carries against the Vikings.  Will Swift be carrying the load for the Birds again or will Hurts go to the air?  We will discuss it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.
