Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Ranger Suárez made his fourth minor league rehab start, pitching Sunday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Ranger Suárez Nears Return to Phillies Rotation After Strong Rehab Start

He topped out at around 93 MPH with his fastball.

The goal for Suárez was to get to 80 pitches after throwing 59 pitches on Tuesday during his previous five-inning start for Lehigh.

The Phillies are hoping to see Suárez throw 90 pitches before he returns to the rotation, so he likely will make another minor league start before joining the Major League roster.

One thing to keep an eye on is Cristopher Sánchez, as of now, the Phillies have no starter listed on his day, which is supposed to be on Wednesday at home against Washington. Sanchez will not start Wednesday's Game, but no replacement has been announced.

If Sánchez can't go on Wednesday, there could be a possibility that Suárez makes his next start in Philadelphia. However, with a day on Monday, the Phillies could just move Taijuan Walker up a day.

Brandon Marsh's struggles continue at Triple-A

Ranger Suárez wasn't the only big leaguer to make a rehab appearance at Triple-A on Sunday. Phillies center fielder Brandon Marsh hit in the No. 2 spot in the order and went 0-2 with two strikeouts, leaving the game with a cramp in his hamstring.

He will be evaluated on Monday.

Marsh began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday and is 2-11 with six strikeouts.

At the Major League level, Marsh has struggled, hitting .095 (4-for-42) with one homer and five RBI in 17 games this season.
