The 76ers are interested in trading for Amare Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert, according to Stephen A. Smith of ESPN.

The move would clear roughly $25 million in cap space for the Knicks, and would potentially allow them to chase another prime free agent - possibly LeBron James.

What the Sixers would give up is not clear, but would most likely be asking for another pick in return from the Knicks.  Shumpert would be an interesting asset for the Sixers, he is a very good defender but his offensive numbers have gone down from his rookie year to this third year.

Overall, I don't expect this deal to happen unless the Knicks add a pick or two in to sweeten the pot.
