A South Jersey sports institution is being postponed, another casualty of the Coronavirus pandemic, as the Shoprite LPGA has been rescheduled for a later date in 2020.

The tournament, which has been a fixture at the jersey shore, has officially been rescheduled. Originally scheduled for May 25-31, will be held July 31 to Aug. 2, 2020.

The event began in 1986 and after a three-year hiatus, returned in 2010 at the Seaview at is played on its Bay Course.

The LPGA sent out a press release today that stated the following:

Given the continued impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the health and travel restrictions that are currently in place around the globe, the LPGA Tour today is announcing additional changes to its 2020 schedule.

Lexi Thompson is the defending champion.
