The Philadelphia Flyers lose to the Calgary Flames 3-2 in a shootout. Coming into this game, the Flames were on a six game losing skid and shut out constantly. The Flyers had chances to put them away early and did not. They were leading 1-0 after Jakub Voracek scored his 200th NHL goal. Morgan Frost had a costly turnover in the defensive zone to lose the lead early in the third period. They took the lead back with under four minutes to go when Kevin Hayes scored on a nice play by Joel Farabe after he took the puck behind the net from their goalie, David Rittich and passed it into the slot. The Flyers allowed a late goal when Calgary pulled Rittich. A shot from the point missed wide and hit the back wall which went backdoor to Elias Lindholm as he tapped in the tying goal by Carter Hart. After a scoreless and entertaining three on three overtime, the Flyers lost in another shootout as Matt Tkachuk scored a beauty on Hart.
