It was an ugly game for the Flyers, who trailed 3-1 after the first and lost Carter Hart and Cam Atkinson for the night before allowing six more goals over the final two periods in a 9-2 drubbing to the Washington Capitals.

A pair of goals by Garnet Hathaway separated by 1:45 turned the 3-2 lead into a 4-3 deficit with 1:12 remaining. An empty-net goal sealed the deal in the Flyers fourth straight loss.

The next eight games come on home ice for the Flyers, starting on Thursday night as they take on the Washington Capitals.

The Flyers top power-play unit got on the board and some newcomers made contributions in a 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals.

Alex Ovechkin scored another pair of goals to bring his season total against the Flyers to eight and his career total to 730, as the Capitals handed the Flyers a 6-3 loss on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers should have plenty of motivation to continue their positive play from Thursday, beings that Saturday afternoon's opponent handed them another embarrassing defeat earlier this week. The Washington Capitals are back at Wells Fargo Center for another matchup.
