Eagles’ best play
Smith broke loose for a 52-yard gain in the second quarter to set up Jalen Hurts’ 2-yard TD pass to tight end Dallas Goedert later in the drive.
Eagles’ worst play
Linebacker Zack Baun committed a costly personal foul in the fourth quarter when his late hit on Broncos running back R.J. Harvey gave Denver a first-down on the Eagles’ 14-yard line and set up Will Lutz’s 36-yard field goal with 1:11 left in regulation.
Turning point
The Eagles led 17-3 entering the fourth quarter, then fell apart. Denver cut the lead to 17-16 with Bo Nix’s TD pass to tight end Evan Engram. Broncos coach Sean Payton opted to go for two and Nix hit wide receiver Troy Franklin to give the Broncos an 18-17 lead.
Did you notice?
Before Sunday, the Broncos were 1-112 all-time when trailing by at least 14 points on the road entering the fourth quarter.… Eagles running back Saquon Barkley rushed for 30 yards on 6 carries, but scored on a 47-yard TD pass.…Wide receiver A.J. Brown had 5 catches for 43 yards… Guard Landon Dickerson was sidelined by an ankle injury in the first quarter.… Smith and Brown both had a shot at catching Hurts’ Hail Mary pass at the end of the game.
