Heading into the 2017 Baseball season, the Phillies have three hitters entering their mid-20's who are expected to have major roles on the team.  Tommy Joseph and Maikel Franco had 20 plus Home Runs last season while Odubel Herrera was the Phillies lone All-Star representative in 2016.  Expectations are for those three guys to take a step forward this season and be better then last year.

John Kruk is the new Phillies Game Analyst for CSN Philly in 2017 and he joined The Sports Bash on Tuesday to discuss the Phils' young hitters:

"Tommy Joseph in limited at bats proved he's got some power; I talked to Bruce Bouchy about him and he said (his) bat plays in the big leagues....he said 'I hate having to lose that bat but sometimes you have to do what is best for the kid'....(Maikel) Franco and (Odubel) Herrera, they have an immense amount of talent but the hardest thing for young players is can they do it for six months?  Herrera was tearing it up and he had a chance to win a batting title and then it hits, especially if you're losing and not playing well as a team that can grind on you.  But I think (Herrera) proved he can be an every day player and Franco I think the sky's the limit"
