The Philadelphia 76ers missed out on a loaded free agency class, as LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles LakersPaul George re-signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and talks stalled with the San Antonio Spurs for Kawhi Leonard.

On Monday, the Sixers re-signed JJ Redick and have been reported to have an interest in free agents Kyle O'Quinn and Jamal Crawford.

As the week progresses, the Sixers now have the task to get their current roster ready for the upcoming season and the Summer League roster ready for Friday. The first task for the Sixers after bringing back Redick was to ink their No. 16 overall pick to his rookie deal.

The Sixers made the drafting of guard Zhaire Smith official on Monday with his contract signing in Camden. Per team policy, the details of the contract were not disclosed.

Smith averaged 11.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.1 steals in 28.4 minutes per game at Texas Tech last season. The 19-year-old will figure to find time coming off the bench during his rookie season, as he still has a lot to work on in terms of his shot.

Smith will participate for the Sixers in the Las Vegas Summer League on Friday, when the 76ers will take on the Boston Celtics.
