Bulls Interested in Sixers Assistant Ime Udoka

The Chicago Bulls recently hired former Sixers senior VP of player personnel Marc Eversley to fill their GM role, and Eversley might be looking to bring a Philly friend with him.

According to Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic, current Sixers assistant coach Ime Udoka, who the team brought over from the San Antonio Spurs this offseason, is a candidate to replace Jim Boylen, if the Bulls make a coaching change.

Two current assistant coaches are standing out as increasingly possible Boylen replacements whenever the job may open: Toronto’s Adrian Griffin and Philadelphia’s Ime Udoka.

Udoka is well respected, spending seven seasons in San Antonio, but in search of a new challenge, he chose to join Brett Brown's staff in Philadelphia.

Udoka, meanwhile, is a name one league source said the Bulls are likely to take a look at after picking up Eversley, who worked with Udoka this season with the Sixers. Udoka is in the first year of a three-year contract that reportedly ranks him among the league’s highest-paid assistants.

Like Griffin, the 42-year-old Udoka is respected for how he thinks the game and his ability to relate to today’s players.
