One of the players making some noise and turning heads at the Senior Bowl is a local product, Cedar Creek alum and Rutgers wide receiver, Bo Melton.

Melton, a wide receiver whose name has been all over the Twitter accounts this week.

A fifth-year senior from Mays Landing, Melton mat not have generated as much buzz as some of the top wide outs in this class, but he is starting to turn some heads this week at the Senior Bowl.

He leaves Rutgers with 164 catches, 2.011 career receiving yards, 11 scores and was also named team captain in 2020 and 2021, but its his tremendous speed that is opening eyes this week in Mobile.

So, just how high is Melton's draft stock right now? According to Ryan Roberts from Risendraft.com, says he is putting himself in good position with his showing this week.

“He could be a fourth or fifth-round pick,” Roberts said on The Sports Bash on Thursday. “He is a ready made slot receiver in the NFL. He's not the biggest guy but he is a nice athlete and a really good football player.”

While at Cedar Creek, Melton finished with 51 receptions for 766 yards and nine touchdowns and added 451 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground as a senor.  As a junior, Melton had 742 yards rushing and 13 rushing touchdowns with 31 catches for 676 yards and 11 touchdowns, helping Cedar Creek capture 2015 NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 2 Championship.

Melton will be part of the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl all-star game this Saturday in Mobile, Ala.
