Former Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld has found a new home, signing with the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year deal.

Sudfeld appeared in one controversial game for the Eagles in 2020, completing 5-of-12 passes for 32 yards and an interception in the season finale against Washington.

Sudfeld, a favorite of former head coach Doug Pederson, heads to the west coast with former Eagles assistant Rich Scangarello.

He will likely battle for the No. 3 quarterback position with Josh Rosen and Josh Johnson.  San Francisco has Jimmy Garoppolo, but did move up to the No. 3 spot in the NFL draft and is rumored to select a quarterback with the pick, likely Alabama's Mac Jones.

Sudfeld has been with Philadelphia since the 2017 season, appearing in four games.  He signed a one-year deal before the 2020 season and spent most of the year as the teams No. 3 quarterback.. He was slated to open the 2019 season as the No. 2 QB, but broke his wrist in a preseason game, forcing the team to add veteran Josh McCown.
