A pair of former West Jersey League football stars shined in Rutgers opening week 48-21 win over UMass on Friday night.

Vineland alum, and current Rutgers running back Isiah Pacheco, ran for 156 yards and four touchdowns.  Pacheco, who played quarterback while at Vineland, is a sophomore running back for the Scarlet Knights and was the games leading rusher.

At 5-11, 210 Pacheco is primed for a big year after rushing for 551 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman last season.

Former Cedar Creek wide receiver Bo Melton, a junior, had six catches for 120 yards and an amazing touchdown grab, where he lost his helmet, but held on to the ball scoring his first collegiate score.

In 2018, Melton had 28 catches for 245 yards last season, but is hopeful to have a breakout season this year for Rutgers.
