Philadelphia Eagles Injury Report: Key Players’ Status For Sunday Game
If you were hoping to see the Philadelphia Eagles' key wideouts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith along with right tackle Lane Johnson on Sunday, then Thursday's injury report was not encouraging.
All three were listed as non-participants in Thursday’s practice. Defensive tackle Milton Williams also was listed as limited with a groin injury.
There was some good news as starting guards Mekhi Becton (finger) and Landon Dickerson along with cornerback Darius Slay (knee) were all back on the practice field and should play on Sunday in Tampa.
Brown missed last week's game in New Orleans with a hamstring injury and Smith had to leave the game with a concussion.
Without that duo, the Eagles may have to sign two wide receivers from the Practice Squad on Sunday, with Paris Campbell the most likely to join the roster. Jahan Dotson, who was added during training camp in a trade with Washington hasn't been much of a factor thus far.
One guy who could be in line for another big day? Tight end Dallas Goedert, grabbed 10 balls for 170 yards last week in New Orleans.
Getting Becton back at right guard and having Dickerson at left guard should help, but the Eagles have struggled in the past in games that Lane Johnson has not played. If he is out, veteran Fred Johnson would take his place in the lineup if he is unable to play.
Johnson is in the NFL's concussion protocol but was on the practice field today.
You can listen to the Eagles and Buccaneers on Sunday with pregame coverage at noon and kickoff with Merrill Reese and Mike Quick at 1 p.m.
