According to NBA Insider Shams Charania of the Athletic and Stadium, Sixers All-Star center Joel Embiid could return to the court as soon as tomorrow against Indiana.

"There's optimism that Joel Embiid can play Sunday again the Indiana Pacers," Charania said.

He adds that Embiid worked out on Friday and will work out again today to see how his knee responds. He also notes that Embiid would already be playing if this was the postseason, but the 76ers are obviously being extra cautious.

"There is progress being made. Joel Embiid has already stated that if he was healthy he would play right now - if it was the playoffs he would definitely play."

Embiid has missed eight straight games, including last night loss in Houston.

"Their trying to make sure Joel Embiid is right for the playoffs.

The Sixers are currently the No. 4 seed in the east, one game behind the Pacers for the No. 3 seed in playoffs.
