The hits keep on coming for the Sixers.

Joel Embiid has played in just six games this season and left Friday night's loss to Indiana after 17 minutes, suffering a sinus fracture, and now Jared McCain will be out indefinitely.

Embiid was injured, taking an inadvertent elbow from Indiana's Bennedict Mathurin to the face just before halftime.

The rookie guard reported soreness in his left knee after Friday's game and an MRI revealed a lateral meniscus tear and will require surgery.

McCain has been one of the few bright spots for the Sixers this season. The rookie from Duke has been outstanding, averaging 15.3 points per game and shooting 38% from 3-point range. Without him, the team will likely lean on some veteran guards like Kyle Lowry, Reggie Jackson, and Eric Gordon in the backcourt off the bench.

As for Embiid, this is now the third facial fracture that he has suffered and will likely force him to miss at least the next 10 days, if not longer. Without Embiid, the Sixers will likely turn to more of Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele along with rookie Adem Bona at the center position.

It's just another in the long line of injuries for Embiid going back to the day he was drafted No. 3 overall by the Sixers.

It's another blow to the team that had won four of five before dropping Friday's game at home to the Pacers. The team now stands at 7-15, 12th in the Eastern Conference this season.
