Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey expected to miss ‘a couple of week’ with hamstring injury
The bad news keeps on coming for the Philadelphia Sixers.
An offseason that generated some excitement as started with dispair with both Joel Embiid missing the start of the season due to injury, and now we have learned that lead guard Tyrese Maxey will miss some time with a hamstring injury suffered in the team's loss to the Clippers on Wednesday night in LA.
According to ESPN's Shams Charnia, Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks with the hamstring injury.
George finally made his debut and Embiis is set to play in his first game on Tuesday, but they will be playing without the services of Maxey, who is averaging 27.7 points per game in seven games.
Veteran Kyle Lowry could get the nod as the teams' starter in Maxey's absence, the team could look at rookie Jared McCain to play more minutes, or veteran Reggie Jackson could be asked to play more.
Either way, the Sixers need to find some wins and will have to do it without Maxet for at least a couple of weeks.
