Did you miss the Sports Bash or do you just want to listen to it again?

The Sports Bash ON DEMAND gives you the chance to go back and hear what you missed.  Its the Sports Bash with Mike Gill and Todd Ranck.

Here is today’s show: Friday August 17th 2012.

Had enough with Charlie Manuel?

Would you be okay if the Phillies were to fire Charlie Manuel at the end of the year and replaced him with Ryne Sandberg? After last night's loss to the Brewers, Charlie Manuel seemed to lose a 4-3 game by mismanaging a bullpen that gave up a grand slam, Todd Ranck now has a count of 12-13 games that the manger has cost the Phillies this season.  Manuel also failed to bench Jimmy Rollins after not running out a ground ball. Sandberg is down in the minors with Lehigh Valley relishing his first managing opportunity.

Rollins busting it

Jimmy Rollins made some comments that ticked Todd off as a fan of the Phillies.  Rollins said that if he busted it every time he would break down eventually and that he had other things on his mind during that at bat on Wednesday. Mike wants to know if we are just giving Rollins a hard time because he is struggling this season and is making $11M per year.

Who Stole My Beer?

Mike Gill starts talking about the gifts some of the interns, who have ended their summer internships with 97.3 ESPN FM, bought for him (and me) as a thank you. Our intern Zach, bought a 12-pack of Shock Top for Mike Gill and a 12-pack of Miller Lite for me. That reminded Mike Gill of the other 12-pack of beer our other intern James bought.  Mike put it in the refrigerator in the kitchen the other day and it turns out that today it has disappeared! Mike and Todd play a game of Clue on The Sportsbash:

Should Manuel be fired

Took some callers on the questionable decision making Charlie Manuel had during last night's loss to the Brewers.  Should Manuel be fired after this season?  It's tough to say because he has a World Series Championship under his belt and he didn't have Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Roy Halladay for a lot of the season.  The manager isn't getting any younger and you do have a Ryne Sandberg waiting in the wings.  Many of the callers in this segment believe Manuel should return next season.

Dave Weinberg

Dave Weinberg, Eagles writer, called in and gave us a few note from Novacare.  The Eagles are getting set to face the Patriots in New England on Monday Night Football and the team hopes to get a stronger showing from the first team offense/defense in a game where the starters are likely to play the full first half. Weinberg said he saw Jason Peters walking around the NovaCare center so he thinks he may be back earlier than expected. You can listen to Eagles Patriots on Monday night on 97.3 ESPN, beginning at 7 p.m.

Ryan Messick

Spent the 5:30 segment talking Eagles with our insider Ryan Messick. Was the $21,000 fine to DRC hit on Byron Leftwich justified? What about the RB position on the Eagles? Chris Polk could be your starting FB this season.  How many defensive ends will the Eagles keep on the roster? Follow Ryan Messick on Twitter.
