Sixers Injury Crisis: Maxey and Edgecombe Ruled Out vs. Cavs
The Philadelphia Sixers already knew they would be without Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey for tonight's matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Embiid is out with an oblique injury, George is still suspended and Maxey will miss at least tonight's game and tomorrow's game with a sprained finger on his right hand.
Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe Officially Ruled Out
There was some hope they could get rookie VJ Edgecomb back on the court, but he has been ruled out for the matchup against the Cavs with his lumbar contusion suffered in the loss to San Antonio on Tuesday night.
Next Man Up: Quentin Grimes and Cam Payne to Lead the Backcourt
With Maxey and Edgecombe out, the Sixers will lean more on backup guards Quentin Grimes and Cam Payne. Veteran Kyle Lowry might be pressed into duty and Trendon Watford could see increased duty as a ball handler along with Kelly Oubre Jr.
You can listen to the Sixers and Cavs tonight at 7 p.m. on 97.3 ESPN with Tom McGinnis calling all the action.
