What to Watch in the West Jersey Football League [9/19]
An early season clash between a pair of South Jersey's premiere programs could propel one team to the top of next week's Power Rankings, and a new addition to the West Jersey Football League faces a team that simply can't lose.
Tons of match-ups worth keeping an eye on this weekend in the WJFL, but of them all none are bigger than the one going down Friday night in Marlton.
Numbers 2 and 4 respectively in our 2014 Power Rankings and by most accounts two of the top teams in all of New Jersey go head-to-head in game that could determine the best in the area. *Follow the game here
- nj.com pick: Timber Creek 20, Cherokee 14
The Blue Devils initiated themselves into the WJFL by blanking Kingsway 10-0, but they'll face a team tonight that opened with Cherokee and still have Shawnee and Timber Creek on the horizon -- the Minutemen just can't afford to drop this one.
- nj.com pick: Washington Township 17, Hammonton 14
Coming off a loss to Clearview, the two-time defending South Jersey Group III champion Crusaders will now have to figure out how to contain Athlete of the Week candidate, Khalil Williams and the explosive Panthers offense.
- nj.com pick: Camden 28, Delsea 24
Should be a good one featuring two teams looking to pick up their first wins of the young season. The Braves had a tough go opening their season against Shawnee, while the Dragons were shutout by Hammonton.
- 97.3 ESPN pick: Williamstown 17, Shawnee 14
