With the NBA Draft less than a week away, ESPN posted its “Grade A” NBA mock draft, giving the Sixers guard Leandro Bolmaro, who spent last season playing for FC Barcelona.

ESPN NBA Draft experts, Jonathan Givony, Kevin Pelton and Mike Schmitz, made picks who they think each team should take.

The gave the Sixers Bolmaro with the 21st overall pick.

Bolmaro brings the exact type of defensive toughness and energy coveted by Sixers fans and new head coach Doc Rivers. Sure, they could use more immediate shooting alongside Ben Simmons, but even if Philadelphia opts to leave him in Barcelona this season, Bolmaro is the best long-term option here. He gives the Sixers a potential point guard of the future with a two-way mentality, passing creativity and continual improvement as a shooter.

As Schmitz mentions, the biggest appeal in Bolmaro is his ability to play at both ends, and his improvement as a shooter.

Bolmaro spent the 2019-20 season in Barcelona splitting his games between the A and B teams.

The Sixers taking Bolmaro 21st could mean they would not be getting any production from their first-round pick this season, as he would likely spend the year overseas before coming over to play in the NBA.
