After two days off, the Sixers would be back in action on Monday night. They would match up against a red-hot Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

Curry would put on an offensive showcase and stun the Sixers on their home floor. Golden State would pick up the win by a final score of 107-96, ending the Sixers' winning streak at four games.

This game would feature two of the hottest players in the league right now, and neither would disappoint. Curry would erupt for 49 points, and 10 made threes, while Joel Embiid would finish with a near triple-double. Ending the game with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

The Sixers would be shorthanded in this game as Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris would both miss this game. Simmons would be sidelined due to illness, while Harris continues to battle with knee soreness.

Being down two starters is never a great situation to be in, but the supporting cast would do their best to try and fill the void. Two players in particular who would stand out are Matisse Thybulle and Tyrese Maxey.

Thybulle is known for his defensive game, but he would do it all for the Sixers against the Warriors. He would end the game as the Sixers' third-lead scorer with 13 points, along with seven rebounds, three steals, and one block.

Maxey would see some extended minutes and make the most of them. In 16 minutes on the floor, he would score 10 points on 5-9 shooting. This is now the second game in a row he has been able to come in and provide a nice spark off the bench.

This game would be the debut of George Hill as he finally took the floor for the Sixers after being acquired at the trade deadline. He would play around 17 minutes and score two points along with two rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

The story of this game comes down to defending superstars. Golden State did a much better job frustrating Embiid than the Warriors did with their defense on Curry.

Elite-level players have the ability to steal games for their team, and Curry would do just that against the Sixers on Monday night. There isn't much you can do when a player goes for almost 50 points while shooting above 50% from the field and beyond the arc.

The Sixers cannot dwell on this loss long, as they have a tough road ahead. Their next matchup will be against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, followed by a mini-series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
