Sixers Shine in Road Win over Knicks

After having Christmas off, the Sixers were back in action on Saturday night facing off against the Knicks. This would be their first game of the season away from the Wells Fargo Center. Although the Sixers struggled on the road last season, it was not an issue in this one.

Despite a slow start, the Sixers would turn it on and defeat the Knicks by a final score of 109-89. This vicotry made head coach Doc Rivers 10th all-time in wins with 945.

Joel Embiid put on a great performance to open the season against the Wizards, and he followed it up nicely in this game. In about 30 minutes on the floor, Embiid scored 27 points and came down with 10 rebounds. Through two games he has been an unstoppable force around the rim.

Ben Simmons continues to fill all areas of the stat sheet. He finished the night with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists, one steal, and two blocks. He was also a menace on defense, locking up Knicks' star RJ Barrett. Tobias Harris had a much needed bounce back game, scoring 17 points on 7-14 shooting from the floor.

The one Sixer who stood out the most was Seth Curry, who looks to be finding his footing with his new team. Curry was tied for the team's second leading scorer on the night, and did it on extremely efficient shooting. He shot 6 for 8 from the floor and knocked down three of his four attempts from deep.

One area the Sixers greatly improved in was turnovers. Taking care of the ball has been a struggle early in this season, but the team did a good job taking care of the basketball against the Knicks.

On top of only turning the ball over 12 times, the Sixers were great at capitalizing on the turnovers they forced as well. The Knicks gave the ball away 16 times, and the Sixers scored 23 points off those turnovers.

The Sixers' defense continues to stand out, and the offense looks like it is slowly starting to come together. They will look to keep things rolling tomorrow night when they face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
