Eagles’ OC Shane Steichen gets second interview with Colts
There are two NFL head coaching jobs still open and one of those teams is interested in Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen.
The Indianapolis Colts have scheduled a second interview with Steichen interview for their head coaching opening.
The news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday..
Steichen, 37, served as the offensive coordinator for the Eagles since the 2021 season.
He came over to the Eagles from the Chargers, when Nick Sirianni was hired to be the teams head coach. Steichen helped the Eagles finish third in points per game in the regular season (28.1) and second in yards per game (389.1) this season, helping them to land in the Super Bowl.
Other candidates who are still in play for the Colts job include: Jeff Saturday, Raheem Morris, Wink Martindale, Aaron Glenn, Ejiro Evero, Brian Callahan, and Rich Bisaccia as a finalist for the job.
Steichen was also a head coaching candidate in Carolina and Houston, but both jobs have been filled.
