The Cornerback position is one of the biggest areas of need for the Eagles after a 2016 season in which their lack of depth was exposed.  This offseason they let Leodis McKelvin and Nolan Carroll leave but did very little to actually replace those guys or bring in high caliber talent to upgrade the position.  As a result, the Eagles have put themselves into the dubious position of needing to select Cornerbacks in the 2017 NFL Draft; they own the 14th overall pick in the First Round.

Scott Wright of DraftCountdown.com joined The Sports Bash on Thursday and discussed the potential of the Eagles selecting Alabama Cornerback Marlon Humphrey at 14th Overall:

"Where they are at number 14, that's probably going to be on the back end of the top tier Cornerbacks.  Marshon Lattimore from Ohio State is going to be gone, I think Gareon Conley from Ohio State is going to be gone, Sidney Jones from Washington is now out of the picture because of that injury.  But Marlon Humphrey from Alabama could be there and I'm a big fan of his, I actually have him as my top rated Corner.  I just think he has everything you're looking for and the Eagles have such a dramatic need at Cornerback so I think that would make a lot of sense.  Although that's one of the strongest positions in this draft, they could get a starting caliber Corner in the Second Round or even the Third Round.  But if I were them, if one of those top tier cover guys are on the board I think they should take advantage of that."
